Five Things to do in Eastbourne With Kids

Eastbourne Miniature Steam Railway

Your kids will love the famous miniature steam     trains that chug for nearly a mile around a beautiful country park. There’s also a lovely trail to follow around the 5 acre lake – just bring boots for welly splashing along the way!

There is also a cool adventure playground for your littles to let loose on, a “Tots’ Village” for the even smaller ones with indoor and outdoor model railways and of course a gift shop selling everything Thomas the Tank Engine!

Redoubt Fortress and Military Museum

This is an excellent place to take kids who are interested in history, the military or great buildings. There are plenty of things to keep them entertained, including dressing up boxes!

As well as great exhibits, this museum has lots of events and hands on history events through the year. There are also daily tours that are included in the entry price – bargain!

Treasure Island Eastbourne

This is a play centre and mini golf full of pirate-y fun for all weather conditions – great for whiling away an afternoon or two!

Buccaneers’ Indoor Adventure is a huge multi level indoor soft play area that includes a separate section for the dinky ones!

Eastbourne Beach

Eastbourne has a first class family friendly beach – there is a lost child centre, first aid post, toilets with baby changing etc., showers, the pier and a bandstand. There is lots of pay & display and free parking along the sea front.

There are lots of water sports and good swimming spots available and there is lifeguard cover June to September.

The Eastbourne Mystery Trail

Our sleepy little town of Eastbourne has a few mysteries up its sleeve and you can discover them all by downloading one of the brilliant Treasure Trail guides. A really good way to explore Eastbourne (and any other town pretty much!)

Don’t forget the best thing to do in Eastbourne though – visiting Deliciously Gorgeous for one of our famous hot chocolates!
