Dear customer

It is with a truly heavy heart that we are writing to inform you that [Cafe Name] has had to close its doors and cease trading.

We have poured everything into making the cafe a welcoming space for our community, but unfortunately, due to exhausting all available financial reserves, we are no longer able to continue operating. We are deeply devastated to have to share this news, and we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your warmth, support, and patronage over the years.

We know that many of our loyal customers hold valid gift vouchers, and we deeply regret that due to the sudden closure and lack of business funds, we are completely unable to process refunds directly.

However, because you purchased your voucher using a card, there is a clear established route for you to recover your funds directly from your banking provider via the card protection schemes.

How to Claim Your Voucher Refund

We advise contacting your bank or credit card provider as soon as possible to request a refund. You can do this through the following consumer protection routes:

  • For Debit Cards (and Credit Card purchases under £100): Contact your bank and ask to initiate a “Chargeback” claim for services not rendered. Let them know the business has ceased trading and cannot fulfill the voucher. Please note: Most banks require this to be started within 120 days of the voucher purchase date.
  • For Credit Cards (purchases over £100): If you spent over £100 on a voucher using a credit card, you are protected under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. Contact your credit card provider to submit a claim for a full refund.

When you contact your bank, you can provide a copy of this email as confirmation that the business has closed and is unable to provide a refund or fulfill the voucher.

We are incredibly sorry for the disruption and disappointment this causes. Thank you again for being such a wonderful part of our journey.

With our warmest wishes and deepest gratitude,

The Team at Deliciously Gorgeous
